Buying and Selling Property Online – ‘E-dealing’
The new age of technology has once again triumphed the old paper world and this time it is the buying and selling of property online – ‘e-dealing’.

What is e-dealing?
E-dealing is the convenient method or medium designed by the LINZ through which lawyers and other land professionals can prepare and lodge common property transfer documents online via their own computer.

Approximately 70% of all property buying and selling transactions can now be done online. The transactions that can currently be done online include transfer of ownership, registration and discharge of mortgages.

E-dealing is currently an optional method of registering your property transactions. The other method is of course manual registration.

What does e-dealing mean for you?

E-dealing means instant registration of your property transaction. For buyers, this means that you don’t have to wait for weeks before we can provide you with a title showing your name as the new owner. You can now get your name registered on the title on the day the transaction concludes i.e. the ‘settlement day’.

E-dealing means convenience. For those who are just too busy to be running in and out of our office signing transfer documents or just simply cannot be bothered signing each and every transfer document when they fall due, will no longer have to be concerned about such inconveniences. This is because with e-dealing, all you need to do is to sign an authority form authorizing us to sign documents on your behalf. We will then be able to sign all transfer documents on your behalf as they fall due and notify you once the transaction is completed. You now have the option to better use your time elsewhere and be rest assured that everything is being taken care of.

We make all possible efforts to bring the best technology available to our clients and we have done just that in this case. We are licensed with LINZ to use e-dealing and have invested hugely both in implementing this new technology in our firm and training our staff to use it.

So if you want to buy or sell property, it could be as easy as downloading the ‘Authority & Instructions’ Form from our downloads and completing it before sending it in to us. We will contact you if we require further details.
